Mona Leilani Penrose

Mona was an Amazing Mom, Nana, Sister, Wife and Friend! She was and has always been very active in her church, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. As an active member throughout her life, she served in various capacities with her local wards. However, her most cherish church activity which brought her immense joy and happiness, was participating in the Ward choir for years. Mona loved to sing. Mona was also quite the cook and chef. If there was a reason, she could get everyone together friends, family, really anyone to eat and feed them. That’s what brought her pure Joy! We will forever miss our big meals at Mona’s! As a widow raising two kids, she completed both her undergrad in business management with an emphasis in marketing and a masters of science in business management. She was quite the intellectual. We will miss her wit, kindness, spontaneity, and quick thinking prowess. She kept everybody on their toes and on alert some would say she was very “spicy” but would help you or anyone if they were ever in need without blinking an eye! Thank you Mona for all that you’ve done for all those around you and for all the things that will be remembered about you. You were so loved! Until we meet again, we love you. PENROSE, Mona Leilani, 67, resident of Wetumpka, AL, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 7. 2022. Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 12, 2022 from Prattville Memory Chapel at 2:00 pm. Burial will follow at Prattville Memory Gardens with Prattville Memorial directing. The family will receive friends at Prattville Memorial on Friday from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm. Mrs. Penrose was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Roy Thomas Penrose. She is survived by a daughter, Tonya Penrose (Brandon Carlson); son, Dana Penrose (Nicole Goodman); eight grandchildren, Leilani Natalzia (AJ), Peyton Carlson, Lincoln Carlson, Tinley Carlson, Althea Penrose, Isabella Penrose, Isaiah Penrose and Maximilan Penrose; one great, grandchild, Nova Fitzgerald; two brothers, Lani Palama and Darrell Palama (Diane); two sisters, Lowana Goyer (Joe) and Malia Palama; daughter-in-law, Melissa Penrose; extended family and friends.
