Thomas Murray Robinson

Mid-afternoon, February 26, 2022, Thomas Murray “Tom” Robinson transitioned from the conversation of a loving family to the commendation of “Well Done” by His loving Heavenly Father. Tom was born March 9, 1939, in Birmingham, Alabama to Francis Murray Robinson and Emma Irene DeVine Robinson. Preceded in death by his parents, brother, Jimmy Robinson, granddaughter, Christy Register Jackson, granddaughter-in-law, Julia Chester, and great-grandson, Benjamin Cade Chester. His beloved wife of 64 years, Rebecca Webster Robinson, his daughters, Cindy Chester (Randy), Cathy Kemmerer (Kyle), and Cheryl Talbot (Jeff), grandchildren, Casey Chester Wilburn (Josh), Ben Chester (Hannah), Matt Siniard, Tiffany Siniard Pierce (Todd) and the added joy of PawPaw’s latter years, his great-grandchildren, Ella and Rhett Wilburn, Ansley, Colten, Claire, Austynn, and Abel Chester, Ally Siniard, Darby, Cooper, and Braxton Pierce and siblings, Richard Robinson (Diane), Noel Thomason, Jean Johns (Buddy), Sisters-in-law, Betty Johnson and Betsy Robinson and numerous nieces and nephews gratefully cherish sweet memories of a husband, Daddy, PawPaw, Brother, and Uncle. With room in their hearts for more, Tom and Becky lovingly embraced devoted friend, Elaine Barnes, as a daughter and faithful caretaker, Jeremy Pike, as a grandson. Special thanks to Rhett Lewis and Stan Palco for their comradery, concern, and friendship that went way beyond Cracker Barrel and the call of duty. Tom’s heart for others was reflected in his service to his Country, Community, and the Kingdom of God. A proud member of the US Navy SeaBees, a pipefitter by profession and a member of Plumbers & Steam Fitters Local #91, a faithful volunteer at The Cancer Center both in Prattville and Montgomery. Tom loved his Glynwood Baptist Church Family and enjoyed serving through the office of deacon and as Sunday School Director from 2002-2008. No job was too menial from building maintenance to Nursery PawPaw, Tom would be found faithful. He used his God-given gifts to bless and encourage others. Tom’s “can-do” spirit was contagious. He had a knack for rounding up volunteers. Whether serving with the Autauga County Disaster Relief Team, planning, and helping to create a wonderful playground for children at Pratt Park, refurbishing a home for a needy family or simply sharing his expertise supervising grandsons, he wanted to be part of the process. His sacrificial love was low-keyed, his kindness demonstrated without fanfare, and his legacy leaves a sweet challenge for us to do the same. The celebration, of a life well lived, will be March 5, 2022, at Prattville Memorial Chapel and Memory Gardens. Visitation12:30 to 2:00pm. Chapel and graveside services to follow. Tom’s investment of time, treasure, and talents were varied. One of his favorites was The Shepherd’s Staff, a ministry to the fatherless and the forgotten, located in Montgomery, AL.
