Arthur Harmon Hunt

In Loving Memory of Arthur Harmon Hunt, born at the family home near Deatsville, Alabama, on August 27, 1932. The son of Jeffie C. Hunt, Sr. and Mary Webb Hunt, Arthur was the last survivor of 13 children. He peacefully passed away at home in Prattville on February 8, 2025 at the age of 92. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, and touched the lives of many with his kindness. Arthur is survived by his immediate family, Dorothy Price Hunt, devoted wife of 69 years, son Victor Hunt (Susan), daughter Gaye Hunt Engel (Jim), grandchildren Adam Hunt (Lorri), Matthew Hunt (Savannah), Ashley Barnett (Kevin), and great grandchildren James, Hazel, Hallie and Mae. At Marbury High School, Arthur was a starting guard on the championship school basketball team. After high school, he enlisted in the U.S Air Force, focusing on aircraft maintenance. He began with P-51 Mustang fighter aircraft maintenance and later moved to maintenance of jet engine military aircraft. His 34-year career included enlisted service and civil service, ending as Chief of Aircraft Maintenance at Maxwell Air Force Base in Montgomery. Arthur was a faithful follower of Jesus Christ throughout his lifetime. He and his wife Dorothy are long-time members of the Church of Christ on Owens Road in Prattville. While in his 70s, Arthur was the subject of a newspaper article regarding his service to and occasional leadership of exercise classes at the Senior Center in downtown Prattville, where he and Dorothy participated for many years. The funeral service will be held at Prattville Memorial Chapel and Memory Gardens on Saturday, February 15, 2025. Visitation will begin at 10:30am, followed by the funeral service at 12:00 noon. Arthur's church minister Tommy Bulger and son Hunter will be conducting the service. Pallbearers will be Adam Hunt, Matt Hunt, Kevin Barnett, Dennis Price, Carl French, and Jim Boyd. Honorary pallbearer will be Gary French. Please join us in celebrating Arthur’s life and sharing cherished memories at the service. In lieu of flowers, Arthur asked for memorials to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.”
