BENJAMIN FRANKLIN HOLLON (FLAG) HOLLON, Benjamin Franklin, 90 a life-long resident of Prattville, Alabama went to be with the Lord on Friday, January 17, 2014. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 20, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. from the Chapel of Prattville Memorial Gardens with Reverend Jay Wolf and Reverend J.B. Burt Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Prattville Memorial Gardens. Mr. Hollon proudly served his country in the United States Navy. Along with his siblings, he was humbled by his hard-working upbringing on a country farm in Autauga county by two loving Christian parents. Even though farming and fishing were his two life-long passions, Christ and family were the center of his life. He was a proud founding member of Hunter Station Baptist Church, Montgomery, Alabama and Prattmont Baptist Church, Prattville, Alabama. Later in life, along with his wife, he started two successful businesses, Washington Ferry Marina on the Alabama River in Montgomery and front-yard produce stands selling home-grown vegetables to the community. His love for his family, friends and neighbors were evident in his never-ending giving heart, helping hand and constant prayers. He was preceded in death by his precious parents, Kirby Clifton and Mattie Pearl Thorn Hollon; two brothers, Ardith Hollon and Alfred Hollon and one sister, Vera Hollon Williams. He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Betty Jane Williams Hollon; one son, Benjamin F. (Jeri) Hollon II; two daughters, Betty Jane Hollon (Charles) Price and Benny Jill Hollon; four grandchildren, Amy Meredith Hollon Wynn, Jason Ian Hollon, Monica Danielle Hollon and Hamilton Trenton Price; two great-grandchildren, Ashley Lauren Worley and Tyler Rhett Wynn; one great-great grandson, William Patrick Vines; two brothers, James (Bessie) Hollon and Ernest (Evelyn) Hollon; two sisters, Inez Hollon Jackson and Carolyn Hollon Straughn and many extended family members and many friends. The family will receive friends at Prattville Memorial Gardens on Monday, January 20, 2014 from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering at First Baptist Church, Montgomery, Alabama, New Vision Baptist Church, Prattville, Alabama or Autaugaville Baptist Church, Autaugaville, Alabama.
