Brenda Jo Goree

Brenda Goree went to meet her Lord Sunday, May 19, 2024, at the age of 76. She was a resident of Prattville, Alabama and attended East Memorial Baptist Church. Brenda Goree was born April 23, 1947, in Birmingham AL to Troy Oliver Hill and Betty Jo Hill. Brenda married her husband, Thomas Glen Goree on July 2, 1966. They shared a beautiful life together and were high school sweethearts. They have been married 57 years. They were blessed with two sons, Ronald Glen Goree and Troy Gregory Goree. Brenda was strong, loving, and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and a great-grandmother. Brenda was always active in all events such as being in the Girl Scouts, Junior Miss Pageant and was chose for installation as Worthy Advisor of Assembly 21 International Order of Rainbow Girls in 1966. She also went sky diving when she turned 40 and drove a racecar when she turned 60. Brenda was active with all the grandkids as well. One year at Easter she was jumping rope with her grandsons and broke her wrist. The next year she jumped rope with them again and broke her other wrist. She was always a part of their activities even when they played sports. She loved to fish, she loved going to the farm, and she loved to travel as well. Her and her husband Tom went on a cruise to Mexico, a cruise to Hawaii, and a cruise to Alaska. She was full of life. She was also very successful in her career as well. She was the CFO for Johnny Graham and Son from 1983 to 1987. She was the CFO for Governor Guy Hunt from 1987-1992. She is preceded in death by father, Troy Oliver Hill and mother, Betty Jo Hill. She is survived by her husband, Thomas Glen Goree; two sons, Ronald Glen Goree (Rolanda) and Troy Gregory Goree (Kimberly); five grandchildren, Emily Goree Whitcomb (Cody), Shayla Goree, Brock Glen Goree (Amber), Logan Brooks Goree and Lane Oliver Goree; two great-grandsons, Hunter Pearson and Saylor Hall; extended family and friends. The family will receive family and friends at Prattville Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, May 22, 2024 at 10:00 am and the funeral service to follow at 11:00am. Graveside services will be right after the funeral with Brother Glen Graham officiating. Pallbearers will be Ron Goree, Brock Goree, Logan Goree, Lane Goree, Cody Whitcomb and Andrew Hall.
