Edna Loucile Nummy

Edna Loucile Nummy, 94, a long-time resident of Prattville, AL went to be with her Lord and Savior August 9, 2026. She was born February 21, 1932 to James Franklin Speed and Mary Susie (Fuqua) Speed in Belmont, Alabama. Mrs. Nummy was preceded in death by her parents, brothers and sisters: James T. Speed, James Franklin Speed, Jr, William L. Speed; Howard T Speed; Louise (Speed) Achord and Billie Jean (Speed) Anderson. She leaves behind her loving husband of 75 years, Eddie L. Nummy. Her son, Ronnie Nummy and daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Kerry Causby. Four grandchildren, Jessica Gillis (Danny), Jacob Nummy (Amanda), Kayla Dake (Will) and Kendall Haws (Braxton). Seven great-grandchildren, Colten and Gabriel Gillis, Levi and Collier Nummy, Baker and Baylor Dake and Harrison Haws. Her sister, Lillian F. (Speed) Killingsworth (James), and numerous nieces and nephews. Edna was a country girl at heart with so many fond and wonderful childhood memories of growing up on a farm in Belmont, Alabama which she held very close to her heart throughout her life. She learned about hard work on that farm and found Jesus at the Old Belmont Church where her family attended until her Dad passed away and the family moved from the farm. Edna met her husband, Eddie Nummy in Prattville, Alabama, and they married December 9, 1950. Together they raised their children and were always present for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a long-time member of the First United Methodist Church of Prattville. She and Dad taught the importance to put God first and trust him in everything we do. Together she and Dad ran three successful family-owned businesses where she was the bookkeeper for over 74 years. We were truly blessed to have Mom for so many years. She is now with her Lord and the ones she loved so much that went before her - What a celebration for Mom.
