Joseph “Joey” A. Horn, the beloved oldest of four siblings, a devoted father, Goodwill gifting fanatic, and the funniest person who could have a room full of people rolling on the floor laughing with his mere presence passed away on June 27,2025 at the age of 64. Born on December 11, 1960 in St. Petersburg, Florida , Joey was the kind of man who believed in showing up — for his family, for his work, and for his team. He worked hard, loved deeply, and lived life on his own terms, always with a warm heart. Known for his quick wit and legendary sense of humor, he didn’t just tell jokes—he was the joke. His laughter was contagious, and his presence could light up any room. Beyond the humor was a man of deep goodwill, often hidden behind a sarcastic quip or a rock 'n' roll lyric. He lived by his own motto: “rock ‘n’ roll is the only way to roll.” He loved the beach and spent countless days cleaning his sister’s pool—earning the title of the tannest pool boy you’ve ever seen. An expert grill master, he could often be found flipping burgers with a cold drink in hand, always ready to entertain and bring people together. Above all else, Joey was a dedicated father. His children were the pride of his life, and he never missed a chance to support them, guide them, or remind them of how much he loved them. He led by example, teaching the value of hard work, respect, and loyalty — values he lived every day. And then there was Alabama football — a lifelong love that ran as deep as any. Saturdays were sacred, and no matter where he was, if the Tide was playing, Joey was watching, cheering, and shouting “Roll Tide!” with unmatched passion. Win or lose, he stayed true. He bled crimson. Preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Peggy Horn, and sister Debbie Guthrie, he leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish his memory. He is survived by his two younger brothers Randy (Jamie) Horn and David Horn and his children Jason (Tricia) Horn, Jordan (TJ) Martin, and Isabella (Will) Devereux; and his beloved grandchildren Jaden Horn, Jace Horn, and Clay Devereux. He was the family’s grill master, beach bum, secret softie, and loudest laugher. Whether flipping burgers, blasting rock 'n' roll, or cleaning the pool, he made ordinary moments extraordinary. A memorial service will be held on Saturday July 19th at 9am at Prattville Memorial Chapel with graveside to follow at 10:30 at Prattville Memorial Gardens. In honor of Joey’s life and legacy, the family invites friends and loved ones to share stories that celebrate the man he was. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you hug your kids, cheer a little louder for the Tide, and live with the kind of heart Joey showed every day. “Roll Tide forever.”
