Linda Paige Black

The Life and Memory of Linda Paige Black Paige’s earthly story began on March 16th, 1964, in Montgomery, Alabama, as the second child of Ronald Lee and Margie Nell Adkins. As a small baby, she survived a house fire that took the life of her older sister, Veronica. Her injuries gave her disabilities which she never allowed to slow her down. She graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in Montgomery and worked her way through college at Auburn University Montgomery, where she obtained a Bachelor of Social Work. She then worked in this field for several years at the Alabama Department of Human Resources, followed by Baptist Hospice. She married Kelley Philip Black in the Atlanta Georgia Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on March 10th, 1994. They were blessed soon after with their first child. Paige then dedicated her greatest efforts to the care, teaching, and tender nurturing of her three children, who she loved above all else. For the past several years, she worked again for DHR, and then for Alabama MENTOR in Montgomery. She put everything she had into her loving labor and touched the lives of so many foster parents and children. Anyone that was close to Paige is aware that her entire life was spent in service of family, friends, and faith. She was known to drop everything to serve when needed. She actively sought service opportunities at all times. She had a deep passion for British and American history and could recite the entire chronology of England’s monarchs from memory. Her fervor for the things she loved could inspire deeper appreciation in others around her, whatever the topic. Without a doubt, her greatest lifelong passion was genealogical research. She spent the majority of her free time tirelessly researching her ancestral lineage and that of her husband, as well as assisting hundreds of others in the search for their ancestors. Overall, she discovered and connected tens of thousands of names. Her belief in the Gospel of Jesus Christ was unshaken. She was a woman of perfect faith, with a joyous perspective of God's plan. Paige will be deeply missed by all those that she has left behind in order to continue her journey and ministry in the next life. Paige is survived by her loving spouse, Kelley; her children: Joseph Dean and his wife Mindy, Daniel Parker and his wife Alexandria, and Hannah Mae. She is also survived by her cherished grandchild, Arthur; her beloved mother, Margie; and her siblings: Ronald, Noah, Katie, and Sarah. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Shriners Children's Hospital in Ohio, which cared for Paige as she recovered from burns as a child.
