Nancy Keeton Scott

Nancy Keeton Scott, 80, resident of Prattville, AL, left this world peacefully, at home, with her family by her side, on Thursday, July 11, 2019, to dwell in the house of the Lord forever. Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 15, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church in Prattville with Pastor Ken Jackson officiating. Visitation will be held on Monday at the church from 12:30 until 2:00 p.m. Nancy's ready laugh and beautiful song now reverberate in the halls of heaven. She was known for her faith in God and her love for family and friends. She was selfless and offered constant words of encouragement to those in need of a smile or comfort. She would happen upon a Bible verse or a quote and think of someone who needed to hear it. She would jot it down to share at the appropriate time. Nancy was generous with her material goods, her time, and most importantly, her forgiveness. She loved and cared for her dearest friend and husband, Warren, throughout their 58 years of marriage. Together, they successfully raised two daughters and two sons, and through them her love remains and continues to increase. She graduated from Huntsville High School in Huntsville, AL and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Montevallo in education. Nancy taught school for 29 years. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and loved singing in the choir. She was a member of Askesis Study Club and Spinners service organization. She enjoyed gardening and playing bridge with special friends. Mrs. Scott was preceded in death by her parents, Laura and Robert Keeton; her step-father, Lloyd Hamacher; and daughter-in-law, Cecilia Scott. She is survived by her loving husband, Warren Scott; her four children, Lori Holman (Jimmie), Robert Scott, Susan Roberts (Aaron), Benjamin Scott (Jessica); her adored grandchildren, Daniel, Chris (Natalie), Will, Marilee, Jackson, and Johnathan; her precious great-grandchildren, Maisie and Simon; sister, Betty Hetzer (Chuck); sisters-in-law, Marilyn Schmacker and Jackie Filigo (Frank); and extended family members and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in her honor to Trinity United Methodist Church in Prattville or a charity of your choice.
