Patricia Hicks Hill

Patricia Hicks Hill, known to family and friends as Pat, Granny Pat, or GP, passed away peacefully on May 29, 2025, at the age of 73. She was born on October 30, 1951, in Wetumpka, Alabama, and spent much of her life cherishing the moments that mattered most — especially those spent with her beloved family. Pat was a loving mother to her son, Stephen Odum, and a cherished mother-in-law to Ashley Odum. She was also a devoted stepmother to Richard and Jimmy Hill. Her devotion extended to her siblings: sisters, Martha Rayburn and Donna Whetstone, and brothers, Jim Hicks and Jerry Hicks. Pat’s heart shone brightest when it was surrounded by her grandchildren — Caroline and Kasen Rainey, Beth and Sam Walker, Scott Odum, and Olive Odum. She found endless joy in spending time with them, whether creating playful messes with arts and crafts, playdough, or glitter. Her grandchildren were the light of her life, and she reveled in every moment she could spend with them. Pat’s warmth extended beyond her immediate family, as she was known for her generous spirit and love for others. She had a heart that reached out to those in need, always ready to lend a helping hand to even the most unexpected of people. Her kindness, selflessness, and genuine care for others touched the lives of many, and she will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Pat was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James William (Bill) Hill, and her parents. Her passing leaves a void in the hearts of all who loved her, but her legacy of love, generosity, and joy will continue to live on in the stories shared by those she touched. A service in honor of Pat will be held at Prattville Memorial Gardens on Saturday, June 28, at 10:00 a.m., where family and friends will gather to celebrate her remarkable life. Pat is survived by her son, Stephen Odum, daughter-in-law, Ashley Odum, stepsons Richard and Jimmy Hill, sisters, Martha Rayburn and Donna Whetstone, brothers, Jim Hicks and Jerry Hicks, as well as her beloved grandchildren, Caroline and Kasen Rainey, Beth and Sam Walker, Scott Odum, and Olive Odum. She will be remembered for the love she gave so freely, the laughter she brought to every room, and the many lives she touched. May she rest in peace, surrounded by the love of family, and may her memory be a blessing to all who were fortunate enough to know her.
