Timothy Mitchell Sowell

Timothy “Tim” Mitchell Sowell of Prattville passed away on September 3, 2023, at the age of 61. Tim was born on September 13, 1961 in Columbus, Georgia, to Kaynell Whittle and Morgan Chapman Sowell. He graduated from Hardaway High School in 1979. At the young age of 15, Tim met the love of his life Terry Giglio of Phenix City at the local baseball fields. The two were married just a few years later on September 22, 1979, at the First Presbyterian Church of Phenix City. After graduating high school, Tim attended Auburn University at Montgomery. He then went on to work for the Pepsi Cola Corporation in Montgomery, Alabama, as a warehouse loading manager. He then went on to open up his own automotive shop called Bama Trucking Automotive. In 1993, Tim met Mike Jenkins and was soon named the Fleet Operations Manager of Jenkins Brick Company. He was later made Stone and Granite Operations Manager as well. After leaving Jenkins Brick in 2016, Tim began working for Jenkins Tire and Automotive. He continued his loyal employment to Jenkins until its closure in 2021, when he began working as Director of Fleet and Safety at Fastening Solution, Inc. As fulfilling as hard work was for Tim, he found his greatest joy in providing for and spending time with his family. He and Terry gave birth to two remarkable sons. Arron Chapman Sowell was born on October 3, 1981, and Thomas Brent Sowell was born eight years later on October 7, 1989. Arron married Stevie Ila Crosby of Prattville on January 5, 2005. The couple gave birth to two beautiful daughters: Leah Tenell Sowell on December 29, 2007, and Katie Tarynn Sowell on November 8, 2010. Brent married Katrina Ann Wilcox of Enterprise on December 18, 2021. Tim had an immense love for family, history, reading, and Auburn football. Tim was preceded in death by his mother Kaynell, his father Morgan, and his older sister Sharman. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Terry Sowell; his sons, Arron and Brent Sowell; his daughters-in-law, Stevie and Katie Sowell; and his beloved granddaughters, Leah and Katie Sowell. The Sowell Family has planned Tim’s Celebration of Life for Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at Prattville Memorial. Visitation will begin at 1:00, followed by a service at 2:00. A burial site ceremony for immediate family will begin shortly after.
